Trip to Calatagan, Batangas Day1: Blue Waters Calatagan Beach House and Coral Shores Beach

Batangas has been one of the most accessible summer beach getaway from the busy streets of Manila. My friends from work were loving to get out and have fun swimming at a beach so in one week's time we were eagerly looking for a place to stay. Considering some of my officemates will be bringing their family with them, Batangas is one of the best options which is only three hours drive from Metro Manila.

The Plan

Because we're 14 adults plus 2 kids, our first priority was to look for a house for rent by the beach. We we're searching from Monday until Wednesday but most of them were booked already. We're about to give up until Blue Waters Calatagan House called up and told us there's available rooms for us. Theirs are per room basis but at least we were able to get a place at this short notice.

Stop Over: Robinsons Tagaytay

Day1. We're on our way early morning and had to stopover at Robinsons to buy stuffs and everything else we needed. Grocery, grocery, grocery. Special thanks to Chester Neil Orense for the pabaong expenses. I strongly suggest to do this the day before the actual trip. :)

Where we stayed in Calatagan, Batangas - Blue Waters Calatagan House

Blue Waters is the perfect ideal house for us (bahay palang ulam na hehe). It was relatively new that just opened a year ago. Every bit of this house is so lovely, the home furnitures are their best asset and you can use their kitchen for cooking. The house is not really beachfront, you need to walk for 3 minutes to reach the Coral Shore Beach. Nevertheless, everyone seems so happy with the house we rented. Because we booked only three rooms, we will be sharing the house with a group of celebrating graduate students. Well, lucky you if there's no one else to share as if you own the house. :)

Hungry Much? Let's have lunch!!

How To Get To Calatagan, Batangas (Coral Shores Subdivision)

From Manila go to Tagaytay City via South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) - take Sta. Rosa Exit or Coastal Road then Emilio Aguinaldo Highway.

From Tagaytay, go south to Nasugbu, Batangas, passing by the Nasugbu Welcome arch, Batulao, Palico, and Central Nasugbu (marker: CADP- sugar refinery). At the junction of towns of Lian and Nasugbu (marker: Shell Station and IGas), turn left, cross the bridge and go through Lian town proper. Stay on the same road until you reach the hi-way going to the town of Calatagan. Once in Calatagan poblacion and the Sto. Domino de Silos Church is in view, turn right to Sto. Domingo St., then, turn left at M. Apacible St. Drive about 5 km more, pass by Pedro Palacio Sr. Elem. School, Brgy. Bagong Silang welcome arch, Playa Calatagan Resort, Ivory Coast Resort, and Sonrisa (yellow wall). Immediately after the Sonrisa gate is CORAL SHORES SUBDIVISION on the right side of the road.  (Directions from blue waters calatagan website)

Coral Shores Beach

After having our lunch and rest for a while, off we went to see the beach. Coral beach Shore is a public beach, there's no waves and it is too shallow for swimming. My friends were a bit disappointed about it, ligong-ligo na kasi sila! (really craves for a dip). On the other hand, I wasn't totally frustrated. This is one discovery I could add on my beach list. I've been to Tambobong beach which is equally calm, and same shallow waters from a beach in Bolinao. Looking at the bright side of the story, this is perfect for pictorial settings. The tampisaw effect (to wade in the water) and their water jumpshots are the pictures they've been drooling on facebook the most. Hehe. (Spoiler Alert! Wait for the second part of Coral Shore Beach as we discover something to rave about.)

thanks Jeff Canlas for this solo pic hehe. :)

It was a cloudy day, too bad I wasn't able to take some sunset shots. We headed our way back to Blue Waters Calatagan House to swim at the pool and enjoyed the rest of the night on dinner and drinking sessions.

I've seen people doing picnic at the beach, and there were fishermen too..so i think it's a public beach.

For the house that we rented, here's their website
http://bluewaterscalatagan.webs.com please refer for the rates, they usually rent it per room.
