It's been a year and a half since I've been dreaming of visiting these places. It all started when I'm searching for beautiful falls that led me on wondering Iligan and then later on discovered the must-try adventure of white water rafting in Cagayan De Oro City. Unexpectedly, it surpassed my expectations because it's a four-day trip that we managed to at least explore a bit of Bukidnon, Cagayan De Oro, Iligan, and Camiguin. Sounds fun? Definitely!
We took the earliest flight from Manila and arrived at Cagayan De Oro City around 6am. The airport is here in CDO, and the adjacent provinces will have to be travelled by land (Bukidnon and iligan) or by water (Camiguin). Cagayan De Oro's airport is known as Lumbia Airport, a domestic airport in Misamis Oriental that local airlines dock like Cebu Pacific, Air Philippines, and Philippines Airlines. An international airport in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental (46 kms from CDO) is currently under construction and set to replace Lumbia Airport hopefully by next year.
Lumbia airport is roughly 30-45 minutes away from downtown city depending on the traffic. There are lots of taxi drivers, car/van owners that is waiting at the arrival gate negotiating with passengers for fixed rate from Php300-350 for those who want to drop off in their hotels as well as transportation to other points of destination for a fixed charge. This is a bit pricey so one alternative is to go for a walk outside the airport towards the highway then from there take a cab to make sure your ride is being metered.
What's Our Plan?
In our case, our plan is to go to Bukidnon first and the go back to CDO afterwards for a white water rafting. Pretty much, our first day is the highlight of our trip because of too many adventures rolled in a day. To minimize time, we had to ask for a car service for our Bukidnon adventure. Thank goodness to our fellow travellers that we met in pinoyexchange forum, our car rent rate will be divided into four, meaning much cheaper! Yey!

I would recommend Kuya Boyet because he's such a sweet person that he gave us discount without us asking for it, maybe because we finished our Bukidnon trip about half of the day. He's car is in very good condition, got good airconditioning too!

Del Monte is not just 42 hectares...it's thousands of hectares...It stretches 13 Municipalities in Bukidnon...It covers around 20,000 hectares in the entire province....
And it is growing because they are renting more lands...
